Shaver Industries Inc. is pleased to introduce the innovative Chip Disc Filtration System. The CDF System is instrumental in providing huge cost-savings to manufacturers that work with cast-iron and other materials.
The CDF System provides reliable chip removal and effective coolant cleaning while reducing the amount of sludge and fine deposits in machines and other equipment. The result is extended machine life, decreased labour costs, and machines that are clean and run continuously with no downtime needed, for increased productivity.
Cast-iron fines are extremely difficult to remove, and many manufacturers must rely on expensive vacuum filters or other systems to ensure longer coolant integrity and to stop fines from traveling back into the machine. Traditional methods are becoming even more expensive and are often cumbersome to maintain.
How does the CDF System accomplish so much? The procedure is simple but effective and the compact equipment doesn't require much space. A hinged conveyer belt, rotating permanent filtration disc, and the patented Chip Catch II work together to separate the chips from the coolant, and transport them to the chip hopper. The larger chips become separated from the dirty coolant, which flows into the unit's conveyor, and are scraped onto the conveyor belt, and into the hopper. Smaller particles or fines are caught by a magnetic drum and scraped off with a stainless steel blade. The resulting heavy sludge drops onto the dry chip conveyor line and is eventually deposited into the hopper to join the larger chips.
This process eliminates the need for costly machine shutdowns, giving manufacturers higher productivity and profitability.
The benefits are far-reaching, and offer an environmentally sound solution to sludge removal challenges, and the high cost of machine downtime normally required for cleaning.
